The LED will become activate when the light level on the LDR will reach the preset level set by the 120K variable resistor. The circuit is using an LDR sensor to sense light. the 120K variable resistor is used to adjust the sensitivity or activation point of the LED. This light sensor circuit shown below is using LM741 IC as a multivibrator in the circuit. This first circuit is a light sensor and the second is dark sensor circuit.
